This Privacy Policy describes how [Dharma Bums] ("we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with EcomInsight, a desktop analytics application ("the App").

1. Overview

EcomInsight is a local-first desktop application. It connects to your own advertising and ecommerce accounts — including Meta (Facebook) Ads, Google Ads, and Shopify — and stores all retrieved data locally on your device. We do not operate any servers that receive, store, or process your data.

2. Data We Access

When you connect your Meta account via OAuth, EcomInsight requests read-only access to your Meta Ads account data, including:

Ad account information (account ID, name, currency, timezone)
Campaign, ad set, and ad performance metrics (spend, impressions, clicks, conversions, ROAS)
Ad creative metadata (names, statuses)
Attribution and audience insights used for reporting

This access is used solely to populate your personal analytics dashboard within the App.

3. How Data Is Stored

All data retrieved from Meta and other connected platforms is stored exclusively on your local device in a SQLite database located at:

%LOCALAPPDATA%\EcomInsight\ecominsight.db

No data is transmitted to our servers or any third-party services. We never have access to your ad account data, business data, or personal information retrieved via the API.

4. Authentication Tokens

To connect to Meta and other platforms, the App obtains OAuth access tokens on your behalf. These tokens are:

Stored encrypted on your local device only
Never transmitted to our servers
Used solely to make authorised API requests from your device directly to the platform APIs
Revocable at any time via your Meta account settings or within the App

5. AI Chat Feature

EcomInsight includes an AI-powered chat feature that lets you query your local data in natural language. Queries are processed by the Anthropic Claude API. When you use this feature:

Your question and relevant aggregated data from your local database may be sent to Anthropic's API to generate a response
No raw ad creative assets or personally identifiable information from your customers is included
Anthropic's own privacy policy governs their handling of API data: https://www.anthropic.com/legal/privacy

6. Data We Do Not Collect

We do not collect, receive, or store:

Your Meta Ads account data or business metrics
Your customers' personal information
Usage analytics, crash reports, or telemetry from the App
Any information that passes through the App

7. Third-Party Platforms

EcomInsight integrates with the following platforms at your direction. Your use of these platforms is governed by their respective privacy policies:

8. Data Deletion

Because all data is stored locally on your device, you can delete it at any time by:

Removing the database file at %LOCALAPPDATA%\EcomInsight\ecominsight.db
Uninstalling the application

To revoke EcomInsight's access to your Meta account, visit: Facebook Settings → Security and Login → Apps and Websites.

9. Children's Privacy

EcomInsight is intended for use by business owners and marketing professionals. It is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted at the URL below with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
